How do you know if a donut is feeling sad or tired?
(Answer below!)

National Donut Day is coming up on Friday, June 6th, and it’s the perfect excuse to treat yourself (and the kids) to a sweet breakfast or afternoon snack.

Did you know Donut Day started back in 1938 as a way to honor women (the "Donut Lassies") who served donuts to soldiers during World War I? The day was created as a fundraiser for Chicago’s Salvation Army.*

Here are a few places around the Madison area to grab your favorite donut:

🍩 Level 5 Donuts - 2086 Atwood Ave, Madison, WI

🍩 Greenbush Bakery - Original location: 1402 Regent St., Madison, WI.
East: 5225 High Crossing Blvd., Madison, WI.

🍩 Bloom Bake Shop Home bakery: 1851 Monroe Street, Madison, WI
Eken Park shop: 557 North Street, Madison, WI

🍩 Fosdal Bakery - 243 E Main St, Stoughton, WI 53589

🍩 Glazed Madison - 2161 Zeier Rd., Madison, WI

🍩 Zippy Lube - 2013 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, WI 53704

Whether you're grabbing a dozen for your coworkers, surprising your kids, or just want to treat yourself—you deserve a donut (or two).

How do you know if a donut is feeling sad or tired? Its eyes glaze over.

About our sponsors:

Level 5 Donuts is a 100% Vegan company that specializes in Donuts.  These sweet and cruelty free confections are made by hand with thoughtful vegan ingredients and plenty of TLC.  Husband and wife team Aaron and Caitlin started Level 5 Donuts in 2019 as a "Pop-up".

Caitlin and Aaron want to provide a kinder alternative to the way we enjoy food.  With a solid donut recipe, and a little help from their friends Level 5 Donuts was created!

Greenbush Bakery started in 1996, when husband and wife team Marv and Barb Miller took over a small donut shop near Camp Randall. Their goal was simple: to bring back the taste of old-fashioned bakery goods they loved growing up.

In 1998, they partnered with the Jewish community to become a certified kosher dairy kitchen helping set a new standard for quality and care.

They continue to operate and make donuts fresh daily at both of their locations.
