Every week, Macaroni KID Madison highlights free/low-cost (and NEVER sponsored, just our honestly curated favorite) ideas to do with kids in the Madison area in addition to the events and family-friendly ideas in our newsletter and on our calendar. This week check out:
- Kids at the Market. Both the Fitchburg (Thursday) and Sun Prairie (Saturday) farmers' markets this week feature kids fests with extra activities, free fun and games for kids.
- Maxwell Street Days. Thursday-Sunday on State Street. Tons of sidewalk sales, a family day Sunday - support local businesses and explore!
- Dane County Fair. At the Alliant Center - with free parking! Come for the rides, free shows, exhibits (my kids love seeing other kids' projects), animals, and more.
- Goodman Pool Anniversary Party. It's already been 20 years? Madison's public pool celebrates Friday evening with giveaways, games, prizes, and extra food trucks and concessions.
- Ice Cream Cone Crawl. Our favorite local ice cream, Chocolate Shoppe, has free mini cones (with vegan and dairy free options) at each location. We've hit all of them (by car), but it's also a nice bike ride to most of them.
